ETYSA members are invited to attend:  The 2021 Roanoke Island Maritime Musuem Annual One-Design Regatta   This annual regatta pays tribute to the deeply rooted sailing history in the Town of Manteo.  Held the last Saturday in July, this regional regatta is open to Optimist, 420, Sunfish, and Topaz sailboats .  There is both a youth and an adult division because playing on the water is fun for all ages!  Join the ETYSA Sailing Team in traveling to this event for $50.00.  The ETYSA fee includes coaching by ETYSA US Sailing certified instructors, as well as use of a ETYSA dinghy to race.  All participants are responsible for their own race registration with the Maritime Museum, travel to and from the event, and lodging if desired: registration cost for racing is $30 per sailor and includes 1 dinner and 1 t shirt.  Entry forms and a Notice of Race may be found here:   https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gRaOQvzxM24ML3ak_1dKQ9yDeVhfSgfE For landlubbers, watch the race from one of the park benches in Washington Creef Park or sit on one of the docks on the bay.  There is no such thing as a bad view in downtown Manteo!

If you are an adult interested in learning to sail - we will be offering group lessons in the late afternoon/evenings this summer!  3 lessons for $200 covering the basics of sailing, designed to develop competence and confidence!  Sign up for more information - specific times will depend upon  interest - no payment until we confirm dates and time with each individual!

ETYSA 2021 Staff Volunteer Training Week (by invitation)   ETYSA Members: All attendees will have an opportunity for a refresher course in rigging the ETYSA boats that will be used in the fall program (Europti, Topaz, and 420), as well as operation of the ETYSA coach boats.  Attendees will go over plans for the year, safety procedures and policies, facility layout and volunteer coordination.  If you are interested in volunteering with ETYSA, please contact Doug Longhini at ncsailor47@yahoo.com for more information.  

ETYSA announces: Adult Beginner Sailing Clinic - Level 1 The course will consist of 2 hour blocks of time from 4-6PM on mutually agreed upon dates. Instruction will be provided by a USSailing Certified Sailing Instructor. On the water Training will take place using the Topaz 12 foot sloop or Club 420. Students must be able to swim. There will be a maximum of 8 students in each class. Minimum of two students per class. You must be a member of ETYSA to attend; membership is $50, and is in addition to the $200 fee for the 6 hours of instruction.  Current members with children attending camp do not need a separate membership - the Family membership for 2022 covers eligibility for adult lessons as well as youth lessons!  Please complete the registration form below. ETYSA 2020 Fall Fun Sail Day #1   ETYSA Members:   The ETYSA board has been working diligently with the board of Blackbeard Sailing Club to develop COVID appropriate opportunities for fall sailing for ETYSA member kids.  We have now developed criteria which will allow us to sponsor at BSC, at no cost to members, several structured “fun” sail days, as well as a “boat loaner” program for qualified members to check out and use ETYSA boats on their own.  All activities will be subject to the criteria approved by both boards, but will allow us to get out on the water and start sailing again!!!  The first of these fun sail days will be on Saturday, October 3, from 1pm - 4pm, at BSC.  There will be no charge for this event, but space is limited to 10 ETYSA members. Participants must have previously attended at least one week of camp with ETYSA, and space is available on a first come, first served basis.  All attendees will have an opportunity for a refresher course in rigging the ETYSA boats that will be used in the fall program (Europti, Topaz, and 420) and, weather permitting, go sailing!  Sailors will also be given an opportunity to qualify for approval to check out and use boats pursuant to the fall fun sailing program rules.  Interested?  Sign up for the Oct 3 fun day is now open! n You may also contact Clare at 252 671 7462 for more information.
