Those new to sailing start in INTRODUCTION TO SAILING. If they attend future sessions or have prior experience, they can attend one of the more advanced courses. This week of camp offers all three courses:  Introduction, Beginning, and Intermediate/Advanced.  Please indicate your child's sailing experience below for proper placement.  Each course starts on a Monday and runs through Friday, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.  Participants must be 8 years old by October 1, 2023, and competent swimmers.  On the first day, all campers will be required to pass a water safety assessment by swimming 50 yards and treading water for 5 minutes.  You must be a current ETYSA member to register for camp. (Family membership is $50.00 a year). Questions?  Please email Heather French at etysacamp@gmail.com.

The Game of Yachting--It's MORE than racing! Historically, yachts were small boats that could sail in shallow water and were used to catch pirates and thieves quickly. In the Game of Yachting, boats are light, sails are large, the wind is big, and wipeouts are a moment away. It’s all about efficiency and speed. Sailors assess and analyze all the information available to them to determine how best to maximize their resources and skills to get to where they are going as efficiently and proficiently as possible. Through experiences like obstacle courses, team challenges, and repeated execution, sailors progressively hone their abilities while building confidence and having fun - becoming yachtsmen. Yachtsmen and Yachtswomen will have the opportunity to test their newly honed skills in a regatta at the end of this week. This week is not intended for first-time campers. Each course starts on a Monday and runs through Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Participants must have attended camp before (previous summers count!).   You must be a current ETYSA member to register for camp. (Family membership is $50.00 a year). Questions?  Please email Heather French at secretary@etysa.org.
